Yearling Black Bear with a Pink Salmon (2)
Every Autumn Pink and Coho salmon run up the creeks to spawn in traditional Kwakwaka'wakw territory on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. This bear came to this area with it’s mother to intercept the salmon and was able to catch one on it’s own. These Bears are very tolerant of respectful local wildlife observers and I used a high resolution digital camera with a powerful 800mm telephoto lens to maintain a respectful distance.
